Introduction

Functional Membrane Technology

Functional membrane technology is an extremely important element technology for environmental and energy related fields of: atmospheric and water resources preservation and hydrogen-based energy efficient use. Through further advancement in performance and microstructure control of these functional membranes, we expect more and more industrial fields to use them from now on.

Purpose

In Membrane Engineering, it is important to develop a balance between basic theories and their application in the industrial world as well as to develop the human talent in membrane engineering. In that sense, the Organization for Membrane and Film Technology (abbreviated: “The Organization”) was established to promote academic-industry relations aiming at both aspects: development of human talent and advanced research in membrane engineering.

Note: To accomplish this objective, our organization conducts joint activities with the Center for Film and Membrane Technology of Kobe University.

Cooperation with the Center

In April of 2007, the Center for Membrane and Film Technology was established inside the Graduate School of engineering of Kobe University, for research and education in membrane engineering.

The organization:

  1. Provides monetary assistance to the center, reaching those members producing results.
  2. Facilitates the collaboration between its member companies and the center according to the research subjects; and through this collaboration, industry needs are reflected in research and education activities performed in the center.
